Trio jailed over attack on former ama boss
Police were able to use CCTV camera footage to track a suspect, 20-year-old Andrew McKeever, who was at a home just outside of Sydney and the area of the attack on Friday night.
It is believed Mr McKeever went inside the house and shot two people at the front door and back before running away, police said.
His sister, who also lives in the house, was shot in the shoulder while fighting for his life in hospital.
The 24-year-old is facing an attempted murder charge, the second in the trial, and another firearm charge with the court expected to rule in the next few days.
One of the victims was named as a 30-year-old woman.
The first victim, 26-year-old Christopher Lee, was shot in the stomach and shoulder while fighting off Mr McKeever. The other victims sustained minor injuries.
In a written statement to police, Mr McKeever's sister, Tracie, said her family was "devastated" and thanked the community for all its support.
She told the court Mr McKeever "put his finger up, he said, 'This is what we did'."
"It just goes to show how vulnerable everyone is when we feel unsafe," she said.
Tracie said her sister was a loving husband and father, adding the family had just recovered from the incident.
"We're all really, really sad and we're asking our family to continue to support each other until this case concludes," she said.
"Our family has a lot of respect for each other."
In a statement to the ABC, Mrs Rau had said that she was not aware of a family relationship between the suspects.
"We were not aware of any relationships between the victims and any other witnesses, and the court has yet to hear from either of them at this time," she said.
"However the court will consider that in the course of the hearing."
In a written statement to police, one of the first victims who sustained injuries, told reporters she felt the attackers were using Mr McKeever as a scapegoat and asked for the public's help.
"It's just scary and scary just to think I lost my baby," she told the court.
"I'm just hoping they can find something that can bring him back so he can be with them."
A man and a woman remain in custody and another man has been charged, 18 months to life.
A bail hearing set for next week will determine the conditions of release.
